NPFL: Rangers aim to end Remo Stars’ incredible and perfect start to the season

Reigning Nigeria Premier Football League champion, Rangers international of Enugu will be looking to burst Remo Stars bubble when both sides meet on Sunday in Ikenne in a match week four fixture.
Rangers won their first game of the season away at Ikorodu City mid-week and will be looking for another win away for the second game in a row and in the southwestern part of Nigeria, but they face a side that is keen on extending its perfect start to the season.
Remo Stars have won all their three games so far this season and are the first club since 2008 to win its first three games of the season keeping clean sheets in all.
The Flying Antelopes say they are not unmindful of Remo Stars incredible start to the season but are determined to halt it on Sunday.
‘Remo Stars is currently the best side in the league with so much energy and quality and I know it’s going to be a difficult match but we are always positive in what we can achieve. We need to build on the success we achieved in Lagos against Ikorodu City and hope for a positive result in Ikenne,’ Rangers head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu.
Captain of the Enugu side, Chinemerem Ugwueze, whose goal saw off the challenge of Ikorodu City midweek is also confident of victory in Ikenne.
‘If we are going to successfully defend the title we won last season, we need to pick points on the road and consolidate with our good home form. No doubt, Remo has shown some quality since the league started but we are determined and motivated to get something in Ikenne by God’s grace,’ he said.
Rangers have lost their last two games in Ikenne and will be determined to also end that losing run.
