NSC Appoints Dr. Simon Ebhojiaye to Lead Electoral Committee for Sports Federations

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has formally constituted the Electoral Committee tasked with overseeing the upcoming elections into the boards of various National Sports Federations.

In a move aimed at reinforcing transparency, fairness, and accountability within the sports sector, the Commission named former Secretary General of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) and ex-Director of Federations and Elite Athletes Department (FED), Dr. Simon Ebhojiaye, as Chairman of the Committee.

Joining him on the seven-member panel are:

Barr. Samson Ebomhe – Vice Chairman

Mr. Lawal Adeoye Waheed – Member

Hon. Tunde Popoola – Member

Barr. Maryam Orotope Paul – Member

Mr. Farouk Yelima – Member

Mrs. Rita Mosindi – Secretary

The Committee is expected to release the election timetable and supervise all activities leading up to and including the conduct of the elections across the federations.

The NSC has called on stakeholders and the broader sports community to support the Committee in delivering a credible and inclusive electoral process, emphasizing its commitment to integrity and good governance in sports administration.
