NSC DG Sympathizes with Anthony Joshua, Families Following Road Accident Losses

The Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Bukola Olopade, has paid a visit to Boxing star Anthony Joshua following the tragic road accident that claimed the lives of two members of his team on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Monday, December 29.

Olopade, representing the chairman of the Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko, and the entire staff of the NSC, expressed deep sympathy to Joshua and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. Joshua’s strength and conditioning coach, Sina Ghami, and his personal trainer, Kevin Latif Ayodele, lost their lives in the crash.

Describing the incident as ‘tragic and deeply saddening,’ Olopade thanked God for Joshua’s survival and assured the former world heavyweight champion of the Commission’s support.

‘On behalf of the National Sports Commission and the entire Nigerian sports family, I express my heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in this unfortunate accident,’ he said.

He added: ‘We thank God for the life of Anthony Joshua. Our thoughts and prayers are with him as he recovers, and we wish him a full and speedy return to good health.’

The NSC Director General also used the occasion to emphasize the importance of road safety, urging all motorists to exercise patience, caution, and responsibility to prevent further tragedies.
