Nwabali battles Williams, three others for 2024 CAF Goalkeeper of the Year

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali is one of the goalkeepers shortlisted for the 2024 Goalkeeper of the Year following the unveiling of the final five nominees for the award which will hold in Marrakech, Morocco on 16 December 2024.

Nwabali who kept four clean sheets in his first appearance in Africa’s premier football tournament will battle Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa goalie, Ronwen Williams who also kept four clean sheets at AFCON 2023 and is in the running for the African Player of the year.

Also listed is erratic Manchester United and Cameroon goalkeeper, Andre Onana, Yahia Fofana of Cote d’Ivoire and Angers SCO of France and Mostafa Shobeir of Egypt and Al Ahly.

No Nigerian goalkeeper has won the award Essam El Hadary of Egypt and Al Ahly has won four times.

Morocco’s Yassine Bounou won the award last year.
