Ocheho charges Plateau Peacocks to make Nigeria proud at Africa Club Handball Championship in Morocco
Samuel Ocheho, president of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) has charged players and official of Plateau Peacocks to make Nigeria proud at the Africa Club Handball Championship in Laayoun, Morocco.
Plateau Peacocks finished third at the 2023 Ardova Handball Premier League women’s category and will be participating in the club championship in group C alongside Petro Atletico of Angola, Andre Nziko of Cameroon and US Nousasser of Morocco.
The team, led by coach Yusuf Abdukadir is already in Casablanca en route to Laayoun wherein they will play their first match against Petro Atletico of Angola on Friday evening.
‘I am quite excited as Plateau Peacocks participate in the Africa Club Handball Championship in Morocco and it is a joy for the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) that a top club in the Ardova Handball Premier League will represent Nigeria in the championship.
‘I do not have any doubt about the tactical acumen of the coaching crew led by Coach Yusuf Abdukadir as they have shown times without numbers that they are up to the task and i believe they will be a good ambassador of the country in the championship’.
‘I only urge them to be of good conduct and make Nigeria proud on and off the court and they can count on the support of the Nigeria handball family to succeed,’ said Ocheho.
Meanwhile, Coach Yusuf Abdukadir who spoke to HFM Media from Casablanca said they have the support of the Plateau State government led by Governor Caleb Mutfwang and the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) to do well and they will ensure they repay the gestures by being a good representative of the country.
