Ofili shifts focus to 4x100m relays after AFN blunder, sixth place finish in 200m

Favour Ofili says she has not finished her Paris 2024 Olympics adventure despite the disappointment of being left of the 100m event by a negligent AFN and a sixth-place finish in the 200m.

The 21-year-old took to her Instagram page to take stock what has happened in the last few days and to confirm she will be ready for the 4x100m relays which start on Thursday.

‘It’s been a hard one coming. Tried to be mentally ready regardless of the shocking news I took few days back. I gave it my all from lane 9,’ wrote the Commonwealth Games 200m medalist.
Ofili also thanked God and all those who have made her journey to the Olympics possible.

‘I want to say a very big thank you to God, he has been my strength and helper, I don’t think I could have been able to run or even get to the finial without his mercy.

‘Thank you, coach (coach Dennis) Shaver, having you around made everything a lot easy for me. I appreciate your support, your faith, and you acting strong so I can be strong. Like you always say…(if it was easy, everyone will be doing it). @dennis. shaver.31.

‘Thank you, best friend, @official_rosemary_9ja, you played a huge role keeping my spirit up even when you have a lot going on. I really appreciate you a lot.

‘To my family I appreciate you all. Mummy I did my best.

‘To everyone out there that wished and prayed for me, I want to say thank you all,’ wrote the Nigerian and revealed she is up for the 4x100m event.

‘Job not finished, next is 4x100m.’
