Ofili successfully completes sprint double at Holloway Pro Classic 2024 in Florida

Favour Ofili successfully completed a sprint double Saturday morning (Nigeria) at the Mike Holloway Pro Classic 2024, a World Athletics Continental Tour – Silver event held Saturday morning (Nigeria) in Gainesville, Florida.

The Nigerian ran 22.36 into a -0.2m/s headwind to win the race ahead of her training partner and 2016 World U20 100m champion, Candace Hill of the USA who ran 22.62 while Hodge Adaejah of British Virgin Island ran 22.66 to place third.

Ofili led from the start and was never threatened as she ran her third sub 22.40 over the half lap in only her third race over the distance and first since April.

The 21 year old will be competing in the event at the Paris 2024 Olympics and knows she will have to go under 22 seconds to stand a chance of winning a medal.

The reigning Nigeria 100m champion had earlier won the 100m in 11.07, catching Hill at the finish line.
