Okafor: Leeds Earned Chelsea Draw After Comeback

Leeds United forward Noah Okafor insisted his side fully deserved their point after a spirited comeback earned them a 2-2 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues looked in control when Joao Pedro’s opener and a Cole Palmer penalty put them two goals ahead shortly after the break. But Leeds responded with determination, pulling one back through Lukas Nmecha before Okafor struck the equaliser to silence the home crowd.

Speaking after the game, Okafor described the result as a reward for the team’s resilience.

‘It is an incredible feeling to get a point here,’ he said. ‘When you are away, 2-0 behind, and you turn it around, it feels like a big hug for the whole team and the fans. They were behind us from the first second, and their energy helped us a lot.’

While acknowledging that three points would have been ideal, Okafor stressed the importance of the draw in Leeds’ battle to stay clear of the relegation zone.

‘Every game is intense, every game is difficult in this league. We take it game by game. The mood in the team is very good, and we have to keep this up and go hard every day.’
