‘Only Calls From Family and Friends: ‘Nwabali Says No Club Contact Yet After Chippa United Exit

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has revealed that he has not received any formal contact from clubs regarding a transfer following his departure from South African side Chippa United.

Nwabali, 29, left Chippa United last week on mutual consent after nearly four years at the club.

Despite reports linking him with moves to Tanzanian giants Simba SC and Moroccan powerhouse Raja Casablanca, the Nigerian shot-stopper insists no official approaches have been made.

Speaking to Sports Nights Amplified, Nwabali said he remains open to opportunities across different leagues but has only received calls from family and friends since his exit.

‘I can play anywhere I want to play; there are no restrictions. I am open to any club, whether local or international,’ he explained.

‘There have been no calls yet. The only calls I’ve received are from my family and friends, as well as people who are shocked by the news.’

Nwabali was one of Nigeria’s standout performers at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where he helped the Super Eagles secure a bronze medal.

He notably saved penalties from Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush in the third-place playoff shootout.

His next move remains a subject of speculation, with fans and analysts closely watching where the experienced goalkeeper will continue his career.
