Onuachu Equals Career-Best Scoring Streak as Trabzonspor Beat Gaziantep

Paul Onuachu extended his remarkable scoring streak to five consecutive matches in the Süper Lig, finding the net in Trabzonspor’s 2-1 victory over Gaziantep FK.

The Nigerian striker’s run equals his career-best sequence and strengthens Trabzonspor’s push for the league title.

Onuachu, who joined Trabzonspor from Southampton in 2024, has been in prolific form this season.

Despite missing a month of action due to the Africa Cup of Nations, he leads the league with 17 goals in 20 appearances, edging ahead of Istanbul Başakşehir’s Eldor Shomurodov, who has 16 goals in 23 games.

His strike rate of 0.80 goals per 90 minutes underscores his transformation into one of Turkey’s most lethal forwards.

Renowned for his aerial dominance, Onuachu averages 3.2 headers won per game according to Opta data, a quality that has elevated him from a Premier League bench option to Trabzonspor’s attacking focal point.

His recent goals came against Gaziantep FK, Fenerbahçe, Samsunspor (twice), Antalyaspor, and Kasımpaşa.

Trabzonspor’s win also continued their strong record against Gaziantep FK, marking a fifth victory in their last seven meetings.
