Onuachu Extends Turkish Super Lig Golden Boot Lead with 18th Goal in 21 Games

Paul Onuachu strengthened his grip on the Süper Lig Golden Boot race with another decisive strike in Trabzonspor’s 3-1 victory over Fatih Karagümrük.
The Nigerian forward opened the scoring in the 20th minute, rising to head home Ozan Tufan’s cross and claim his 18th goal of the season.
That goal not only set Trabzonspor on course for three points but also widened Onuachu’s lead in the race for the league’s top scorer. His consistency has been remarkable, averaging nearly a goal per game with 18 goals in 21 appearances.
Onuachu’s closest challenger, Eldor Shomurodov of İstanbul Başakşehir, failed to score also on Friday night in his side’s 2-0 win over Konyaspor at the Başakşehir Fatih Terim Stadium. Shomurodov has 16 goals from 24 matches, trailing Onuachu by two.
With Trabzonspor climbing to 51 points and reasserting themselves in the title race, Onuachu’s form has become central to both the team’s ambitions and his personal pursuit of the Golden Boot.
The coming week will see Trabzonspor travel to Kayserispor, while Başakşehir face Gaziantep FK, fixtures that could further shape the battle between the league’s two leading marksmen.
