Onuachu moves three goals clear of Osimhen, now joint top scorer in Turkey

Paul Onuachu continued his impressive form in the Trendyol Super League, scoring twice in Trabzonspor’s thrilling 4–3 away win over Fatih Karagümrük in Week 7 at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium on Saturday.
The seven-goal spectacle saw Felipe Augusto open the scoring for Trabzonspor in the 21st minute, following a well worked move involving Oulai and Pina. Karagümrük responded swiftly, with Tiago Çukur finishing off a pass from Sam Larsson in the 28th minute.
Onuachu then took charge, netting twice to give Trabzonspor a commanding lead. Sikan added a fourth for the visitors, while Fofana’s brace kept Karagümrük in the contest until the final whistle.
With his brace, Onuachu now has five goals in seven matches this season, placing him joint top of the Super Lig scoring chart alongside Argentine striker Mauro Icardi, who plays for Galatasaray.
The Nigerian forward has moved three goals ahead of compatriot Victor Osimhen, who led the scoring charts last season with 26 goals while on loan at Galatasaray.
Like Onuachu, Osimhen is now on a permanent deal with the Istanbul giants but has managed just two goals in four appearances this season, having missed three matches due to injury and fitness concerns.
Since arriving in Turkey, Osimhen has scored 28 goals and provided five assists in 34 Super Lig appearances. Onuachu, meanwhile, has delivered 20 goals and four assists in 28 league games.
