Onuachu returns from AFCON 2025 with his 12th goal for Trabzonspor

Paul Onuachu marked his return from Africa Cup of Nations duty with Nigeria in style, scoring the opening goal in Trabzonspor’s 2-1 victory over Kasımpaşa at Papara Park.
After a 41-day absence from league action, the towering striker came off the bench at half-time and needed just five minutes to make his presence felt, turning sharply inside the box before firing low past the goalkeeper to give his side the lead.
It was Onuachu’s 12th goal in 16 Süper Lig appearances this season, a tally that places him second on the scoring charts, just one behind Eldor Shomurodov of İstanbul Başakşehir.
His clinical finish underlined his importance to Trabzonspor’s attack, especially after missing three league matches due to suspension and international duty.
Although Kasımpaşa equalised through Fousseni Diabate, Oleksandr Zubkov’s late strike sealed the win for Trabzonspor, who climbed to third in the table with 41 points.
