Onuachu seals permanent move to Trabzonspor
Southampton FC has confirmed that Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu will join Turkish side Trabzonspor on a permanent transfer, following a previously successful loan stint during the 2023/24 season.
The 31-year-old departs St Mary’s after two-and-a-half seasons, having made 36 Premier League appearances for the Saints, including 25 in the 2024/25 campaign, where he scored four goals and provided one assist. His earlier stint in the 2022/23 season saw him feature 11 times without scoring.
Onuachu’s time in England was marked by flashes of promise but limited impact in front of goal. However, his form in Turkey reignited his career, prompting Trabzonspor to secure his services permanently.
Southampton expressed gratitude for his contributions and wished him success in the next chapter of his career. The towering forward is expected to undergo medicals and finalize personal terms in Turkey this weekend.
