Onuachu Targets First Goal Against Galatasaray, Seeks to Extend Lead as Super Lig Top Scorer

Paul Onuachu will be aiming to break his scoring duck against Galatasaray when Trabzonspor host the Yellow and Reds at Papara Park on Sunday, as the Super Lig resumes after the international break.
The Nigerian striker has been unstoppable this season, scoring 21 goals in 24 league appearances, but the Yellow and Reds remain one of the few sides to have kept him quiet.
He failed to find the net in their earlier meeting at Rams Park, a goalless draw that stands out as one of the rare occasions he has been shut down.
Onuachu’s prolific run has propelled him to the top of the Super Lig scoring chart.
Onuachu’s prolific run has propelled him to the top of the Super Lig scoring chart, ahead of Eldor Shomurodov (16) of Basaksehir, Anderson Talisca (13) of Fenerbahce, and Galatasaray’s Mauro Icardi (13) and Victor Osimhen (12).
The Super Eagles star has built a reputation for scoring against nearly every opponent he has faced more than once, with only Adana Demirspor and Eyüpspor managing to keep him off the scoresheet in repeated encounters.
Galatasaray could join that short list if he fails to score again, an outcome he will be desperate to avoid in front of Trabzonspor’s home supporters.
The race for the Golden Boot remains fierce, but Onuachu currently leads the pack with 21 goals.
Shomurodov follows with 16, while Talisca and Icardi are tied on 13. Osimhen and Mohamed Bayo (12) sit just behind, with Marco Asensio (11), Ernest Muçi (10), Felipe Augusto (10), and Umut Nayir (8) also in the chasing group.
