Onuachu’s goal machine: 20 in 28 and still firing for Trabzonspor

Paul Onuachu is proving to be a relentless force for Trabzonspor, with a staggering 20 goals in just 28 Süper Lig appearances across two stints with the club.
The Nigerian striker, who returned to the club after a season away, has picked up right where he left off, delivering goals and points with clinical consistency, reports NTV Spor.
In his debut season (2023/2024), Onuachu netted 15 times in 21 matches, boasting an impressive average of 0.71 goals per game.
That figure edged past the per-game record of former fan favorite Alexander Sörloth, who scored 24 goals in 34 matches (0.70 average) during the 2019/2020 campaign.
Despite missing games due to the Africa Cup of Nations and injuries, Onuachu’s efficiency stood out.
This season, now a full transfer from Southampton, he’s already bagged 5 goals in the first 7 weeks, scoring more than half of Trabzonspor’s total goals (5 out of 9).
His strikes have directly contributed to 8 of the team’s 14 points, including match winning and equalizing goals against Kocaelispor, Samsunspor, Gaziantep FK, and a brace in the thrilling 4–3 victory over Fatih Karagümrük.
Onuachu’s impact goes beyond the scoreboard. In matches where he found the net last season, Trabzonspor earned 28 points from 11 games (9 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss).
Combined with this season’s contributions, the club has collected 36 points from 15 matches in which he scored, an average of 2.4 points per game.
Onuachu’s 0.71 goal-per-game rate makes him one of the most efficient strikers in recent Süper Lig history.
