Onyedika One Yellow Card Away from UEFA Champions League Ban

Raphael Onyedika will have to tread carefully when Club Brugge face Kairat Almaty at the Almaty Central Stadium on Tuesday, with the Nigerian midfielder just one yellow card away from suspension in the UEFA Champions League.
The 24-year-old has already picked up two cautions in four appearances this season, one in the 3-3 draw against Barcelona and another in the 3-0 defeat to Sporting Lisbon.
A third booking would rule him out of Brugge’s crucial clash against Marseille at the Jan Breydel Stadion on January 28.
Onyedika has been a key figure for both club and country in recent weeks. He scored once in the Champions League this term and impressed at AFCON 2025, where he netted twice to help Nigeria secure their ninth bronze medal.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, with Premier League side Aston Villa reportedly preparing a move for the midfielder.
Brugge will be hoping Onyedika can keep his discipline in Almaty as they look to strengthen their position in the league phase, while the player himself continues to attract interest from abroad.
