Orbih Vows to Elevate Nigerian Badminton After Re-Election
Bar. Francis Orbih has vowed to elevate Nigerian badminton to new heights following his re-election as President of the Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN).
Speaking after the inauguration of the newly elected 15-member board in Abuja, Orbih acknowledged the weight of responsibility that comes with the mandate but expressed confidence that, with continued support from the National Sports Commission, the federation will build on past successes.
‘Badminton has received immense support since you assumed office in the Commission and this is reflected on the results the various badminton teams are churning in. We are going to raise the bar this time around.
‘After the election today, I felt a heavy weight on me. When you mentioned the debt, it even makes the weight heavier. With your usual support, no doubt we will continue from where we stopped,’ Orbih said.
The inauguration was conducted by National Sports Commission Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko, who praised the smooth conduct of the elections as evidence of the Commission’s commitment to functional sports federations.
