Osayi-Samuel 50-50 for Fenerbahce against Osimhen’s Galatasaray in ‘Intercontinental Derby’

Fenerbahce defender, Bright Osayi-Samuel is a 50-50 for this weekend’s ‘Intercontinental Derby’ between his Jose Mourinho coached club and Victor Osimhen’s Galatasaray.

The derby, called the intercontinental derby because of the fact that Fenerbahçe is based on the Asian side of Istanbul, while Galatasaray is based on the European side, making it a clash of continents, is not just a football match; it’s a significant cultural event in Turkey, showcasing immense passion and rivalry between the fans and the teams.

According to reports in Turkey, Osayi-Samuel is nearing the end of his treatment, has started individual training.

There is a 50 per cent chance that the Nigerian will be available in time for the big game. The Nigerian’s condition will be monitored on a day-by-day basis.

If he plays, it will be his eighth against the reigning Turkish Super Lig champion. The 26 year old has won three and lost three of the seven games he has featured against Galatasaray.
He has provided an assist once and helped his club keep two clean sheets.

For Osimhen, it will be his first ‘Intercontinental Derby’ game.

The game will hold on Saturday at Fenerbahce’s Ulker Stadyumu Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu Spor Kompleksi.
