Osimhen Back in UEFA Champions League Team of the Week

The second legs of the Champions League play-off round have been completed, and Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen has once again earned a spot in the competition’s Team of the Week.

Galatasaray stunned Juventus in Turin, eliminating the Italian giants in extra time to secure their place in the round of 16.

Osimhen was instrumental, scoring Galatasaray’s third goal to make it 3-1 and tilt the balance of a thrilling tie. His composed finish raised his tally in this season’s Champions League to seven goals.

It is the second consecutive week that the Nigerian striker has been named among the best performers, having also featured in the Team of the Week after the first leg of the play-off round.

Osimhen was selected in a two-man attack alongside Alexander Sørloth, who netted a hat-trick in Atlético Madrid’s 4-1 victory over Club Brugge.

Sørloth’s height, power, and hold-up play were highlighted as key to Atleti’s success, while Osimhen’s clinical finishing continues to underline his reputation as one of Europe’s most dangerous forwards.
