Osimhen could be out for six weeks, out of AFCON qualifiers

Football Italia is reporting that on loan Galatasaray forward, Victor Osimhen could be out of action for around six weeks after suffering a thigh strain in the Turkish Super Lig game against Kasimpasa last weekend.
The Nigerian netted twice in the first half of the game for his first goals for his new club after bagging three assists in his first three games.
However, the 25-year-old did not appear for the second half of the game which saw Galatasaray capitulated and gave up a 3-1 first half lead to draw 3-3 and missed the chance to win their first seven games of a new season which would have been a record.
Osimhen was diagnosed with a muscular problem and it would seem to be more serious than previously thought.
According to Football Italia, latest reports suggest ‘Osimhen has a significant thigh strain in his left leg and is expected to be out of action for four to six weeks.’
The former Lille of France forward will miss Thursday’s Europa League at Latvia and, unless there is a significant improvement, will likely miss this weekend’s league game.
If he does, then he will be doubtful for Super Eagles 2025 AFCON double header against Libya later this month.
