Osimhen declared fit for Champions League clash against Frankfurt

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen is in contention to feature in the club’s UEFA Champions League opener against Eintracht Frankfurt, following a week of intensive treatment for an ankle injury sustained during international duty.

The Nigerian forward had been a major doubt for the fixture after suffering a moderate ligament strain and internal bleeding in his ankle during Nigeria’s 1–0 win over Rwanda.

Osimhen returned to Turkey immediately for medical evaluation and has since undergone a focused rehabilitation program.

According to reports from Sabah, Osimhen’s condition has improved significantly. While he continues to experience some pain, the bleeding has subsided, and he is now medically cleared to be part of the matchday squad.

The final decision regarding his inclusion in the starting XI will be made on the day of the match.

Sources close to the team have confirmed that Osimhen has expressed his willingness to play through discomfort, telling Galatasaray’s technical staff that he is ‘ready to sacrifice’ for the team if called upon.

Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk remains optimistic about Osimhen’s availability, stating that the striker’s status will be assessed further ahead of Thursday’s fixture in Frankfurt.

Osimhen’s potential return is a major boost for Galatasaray, who face a strong opponent in Eintracht Frankfurt, fresh off a three-goal away win in their domestic campaign.

The Nigerian international has a proven record against the German side, having scored three goals in two appearances against them during his time at Napoli.
