Osimhen equals personal season’s goal record with 31st strike for Galatasaray

Victor Osimhen inspired Galatasaray to their 25th win in 31 games with a goal and assist in the 5-1 demolition of their host, Eyupspor Sunday at the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Stadi.

The goal not only ensured the Yellow and Red remain five points clear of Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce in the race for the Super Lig title but he also equaled his best goals return in a season.

The 26-year-old superstar has scored 31 goals and provided eight assists in 36 appearances this season.

He provided an assist for the opening goal of the game by Roland Sallai on 29 minutes and found the back of the net in the 71st minute to make it 3-0 for the visitors.

This is the second time in his career Osimhen would score 31 goals in a season.

He first did it in the 2022-2023 season at Napoli where he netted 31 goals in 39 appearances.

Osimhen will break his career record if he scores one more goal in the remaining matches.
