Osimhen finally jets out to Galatasaray to complete loan deal after reduced release and breaking clauses

Victor Osimhen is already on his way to Turkey to join Super Lig champions, Galatasaray on a season-long loan deal from Serie A side, Napoli.
Reports coming out of Italy say the Nigerian left Naples around midnight (11pm in Nigeria) to Istanbul to complete his Galatasaray transfer after Napoli worked out a new release clause.
According to international transfer expert and journalist, Fabrizio Romano, agreement has been reached on new release clause for the 25-year-old at Napoli ahead of Galatasaray loan.
It will be worth €75m from 2025.
Napoli wanted a contract extension to 2027 to ensure they still had bargaining power over his sale, whereas Osimhen wanted a release clause allowing him to leave for well under the €130m currently written into their agreement.
He also demanded a break clause in January allowing him to leave early for one of 10 specified big clubs, with Galatasaray receiving a small fee if it was activated.
According to Romano, that agreement has now been reached with a few compromises.
‘Victor Osimhen to Galatasaray, here we go!
‘Deal done and all documents have been approved.
‘Osimhen’s release clause will be €75m with Napoli option to extend until 2027.
‘Loan move to Gala until June 2025, €9/10m salary covered.
‘No buy option, no obligation,’ Romano wrote on his X handle.
