Osimhen: ‘I’m Among the Top Three Strikers in World Football’

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has boldly declared himself one of the top three strikers in world football.
The Super Eagles star made the statement ahead of Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League playoff first-leg clash against Juventus at RAMPS Park on Tuesday.
Osimhen’s confidence is backed by pundits who point to his relentless work rate, physical presence, and consistent goal-scoring ability.
The 27-year-old has scored 166 goals in 286 club appearances, while on the international stage he is just four goals away from surpassing Rashidi Yekini as Nigeria’s all-time leading scorer.
Asked to compare his current form in Turkey with his prolific spell at Napoli in Serie A, Osimhen told La Gazzetta dello Sport: ‘I don’t like making comparisons, but I know I’m among the best center-forwards around. If I’m not number one, I’m number two. Or, at worst, number three.’
He also urged his Galatasaray teammates to remain focused against Juventus, warning that ‘any mistake against them can be very costly.’
Osimhen has already made his mark in Europe this season, scoring six goals in six Champions League matches, further strengthening his claim to be among the elite strikers in world football.
