Osimhen injury shakes Galatasaray!
Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has expressed deep concern over Victor Osimhen’s injury sustained during Nigeria’s 1-0 victory over Rwanda in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
The Nigerian striker was forced off in the first half of the match at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo and replaced by Cyriel Dessers.
Speaking during a live broadcast on NOW TV, Buruk shared the latest updates on Osimhen’s condition and admitted the situation has left the club worried.
‘We’ve reached Osimhen. The information we received is that he has pain in his foot. We can’t say it’s nothing, and we don’t know exactly what it is. But he felt the pain clearly,’ Buruk said.
The Galatasaray boss revealed that the club’s medical team has already made contact with their Nigerian counterparts.
‘I spoke to Abdullah Kavukcu and they reached out to the player. Our club doctor contacted their doctor. If possible, we want to bring him here as soon as possible and have him checked. He’s in pain and not in a position to play the next game in two days.’
Buruk, visibly emotional during the broadcast, admitted he always worries when Osimhen joins up with the national team.
‘We’ll see what happens, but it’s very sad news for us. We weren’t told anything about the severity of the injury, but we were informed that he had clear pain. I always have my fears when I send him to the national team, and that’s what we experienced tonight.’
