Osimhen Joins Galatasaray Training After Record-Breaking Transfer

Galatasaray ramped up their pre-season preparations on Friday evening at the Kemerburgaz Metin Oktay Facilities, with a high-energy training session led by head coach Okan Buruk.

The spotlight, however, was firmly on Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who took part in his first official training session following his historic move from Napoli.

The 26-year-old forward, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, was permanently signed this week in a €75 million deal—the most expensive transfer in Turkish football history.

Osimhen penned a four-year contract that includes a €15 million annual salary, plus bonuses and image rights fees totaling €21 million per season.

According to Galatasaray’s website, Osimhen joined teammates including Leroy Sané and Mauro Icardi in a dynamic session featuring tactical drills, passing routines, and positional play.

The club shared exclusive photos of Osimhen training alongside Sané, who also arrived this summer from Bayern Munich4.

Speaking to the club’s media team, Osimhen expressed his excitement:

‘I’m so proud to be here again. The fans gave me an unforgettable welcome. I’ll give everything—every drop of sweat—for this badge.’

The striker was visibly moved by the thousands of supporters who greeted him at Istanbul Airport on Wednesday night, many of whom had tracked his flight from Germany.

With Osimhen, Sané, and Icardi potentially forming a lethal attacking trio, fans are eager to see how Galatasaray’s new-look squad performs against the Serie A side.
