Osimhen Joins Mbappé, Kane, Haaland Among 2025 Global Goal Kings

Victor Osimhen has capped off a remarkable 2025 by cementing his place among the world’s elite strikers, finishing the year as one of the top four scorers across global football.

The Galatasaray forward, who also leads Nigeria’s attack, has struck 46 goals in 51 matches for club and country, edging past Lionel Messi’s tally of 46 in 54 appearances for Inter Miami and Argentina.

It has been a dream year for the 27-year-old. Osimhen fired Galatasaray to a domestic double, winning both the Süper Lig and Turkish Cup, while claiming the Golden Boot with 26 goals in the 2024-25 season.

His relentless scoring form continued into the new campaign and on the international stage, where he recently netted against Tunisia at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Osimhen’s exploits place him in rarefied company. Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé leads the global charts with 66 goals, followed by Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane on 60 and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland with 57.

Osimhen sits fourth, ahead of Messi, underlining his rise as one of the most feared forwards in the game.

As Nigeria prepare to face Uganda in their final group match at AFCON 2025, Osimhen will have the chance to add to his tally and close out the year in style.
