Osimhen misses training ahead of Galatasaray vs Beşiktaş derby

Galatasaray has kicked off preparations for their highly anticipated derby clash against Beşiktaş in the 8th week of the Trendyol Super League. The match is scheduled for Saturday, October 4.

During Thursday’s training session, star striker Victor Osimhen was notably absent from team drills, instead working individually.

According to Milliyet, the Nigerian forward sustained an injury during Galatasaray’s Champions League victory over Liverpool and is currently undergoing separate recovery exercises.

Osimhen had previously missed three matches due to an injury sustained while on international duty. He made his return in the Süper Lig fixture against Alanyaspor and was in the starting lineup for the Liverpool match, where he scored the decisive goal.

Speaking after the Liverpool game, Osimhen expressed gratitude to Galatasaray’s medical staff:

‘Thank you to the medical team. They did a very good job and got me ready for this match. I’m not one hundred percent yet, but they helped me return well. The Beşiktaş match is one of our biggest games this season. It will be tough, but we aim to build on this performance.’

Osimhen has featured in five matches for Galatasaray this season, netting three goals and proving to be a key figure in their attacking lineup.
