Osimhen nets first European hat-trick on record-setting night
Victor Osimhen etched his name into Galatasaray’s history books with a stunning hat-trick against Ajax, becoming the first player since Burak Yılmaz in 2012 to score three goals in a single European match for the club.

The Nigerian has scored in eight consecutive European matches for Galatasaray, marking the longest streak in UEFA competitions since Robert Lewandowski’s nine-game run between November 2020 and November 2021.
The 26 year old is also the first player in Galatasaray history to score braces in back-to-back UEFA Champions League matches.
The Super Eagle has now scored six goals in three appearances this season in the Champions League. He found the net in the 1-0 win over Liverpool at Rams Park in Istanbul, scored twice in the 3-1 victory against FK Bodø/Glimt and now a hat-trick in the 3-0 defeat of Ajax at Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam.
He has now scored 15 goals in 20 UEFA Champions League games to move into sixth in he African top scorers list in the competition.
The hat-trick is his fourth in club football after netting three times twice in the Serie A and interestingly against the same club, US Sassuolo and onc, so far, in the super Lig agwhen he netted three goals in the 4-0 defeat of Antalyaspor in March this year.

The Ajax hat-trick is Osimhen’s fourth in club football, having previously scored three goals twice in Serie A, both times against US Sassuolo, and once in the Turkish Süper Lig, when he netted a treble in Galatasaray’s 4-0 win over Antalyaspor in March this year.
