Osimhen on the Brink of History Ahead of Liverpool Clash

Galatasaray’s prolific forward Victor Osimhen is just one strike away from etching his name into the history books as the Turkish giants prepare to face Liverpool in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 at Anfield.

The Yellow and Reds enter the decisive clash with hopes of protecting their first leg advantage and booking a place in the quarterfinals.

All eyes will be on Osimhen, who has already netted seven times in Europe’s premier competition this season.

A goal against Liverpool would see him equal the record set by Burak Yılmaz, who scored eight goals in nine Champions League appearances for Galatasaray during the 2012/2013 campaign.

Osimhen’s impact has been undeniable this season. Across 28 matches in all competitions, he has scored 19 goals and provided seven assists.

Twelve of those goals came in the Süper Lig, while his seven strikes in the Champions League have put him on the cusp of matching Yılmaz’s milestone.
