Osimhen reportedly seals €160m four-year deal with Saudi Pro League side, Al-Ahli

Several sports news outlets including Rai Sport, Saudi Sport and Calciomercato.it are reporting that Victor Osimhen has agreed a four-year contract worth €40m per season in wages with Al-Ahli of Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Pro League side are also prepared to include a release clause in the deal, which could facilitate a move back to Europe from 2025 onwards.

Al-Ahli will still need to negotiate an appropriate transfer fee with Napoli.

The Nigerian had been subject of interest from PSG and Chelsea, but the French Ligue 1 side have since pulled out due to Napoli’s insistence on the club playing the player’s 130 million euros release clause.

Chelsea seemed to be having the edge after the west London side came in forcefully this week to get the Super Eagle but are still proposing a loan deal and a salary that matches what the Nigerian is receiving at Napoli.

Al-Ahli have reportedly offered the player around four times as much as Chelsea did and the Nigerian is now reported to have reached an agreement to join the club and play in a league that already has Nigeria’s AFCON 2023 stand-in captain, William Troost-Ekong and former Nigeria striker, Odion Ighalo.
