Osimhen To Be Out for One Month If…
Galatasaray has confirmed that striker Victor Osimhen sustained a fracture to his arm during Wednesday night’s UEFA Champions League fixture against Liverpool at Anfield.
Despite the injury, Osimhen remarkably continued to play for 40 minutes before being substituted at halftime.
Th club says the forward’s arm was placed in a plaster cast following immediate medical examinations. The medical team is currently evaluating whether the fracture can heal naturally or if surgical intervention will be required.
Should surgery be deemed necessary, Osimhen is expected to be sidelined for approximately one month. If the plaster treatment proves sufficient, his return could come sooner.
Turkish sports journalist Serhan Türk noted, ‘The possibility of Osimhen’s surgery is still on the table. If the fracture heals with plaster, he will return in a shorter time than expected, but if the decision for surgery is made, it will take 1 month. A decision will be made on Monday.’
Another journalist, Haluk Yürekli added, ‘Osimhen played with a broken arm for 40 minutes. How can the doctor who intervenes on the field not understand this? He has a plaster cast on his arm. He went to Nigeria. It will become clear after he returns to Istanbul.’
Galatasaray will provide further updates once the medical team has completed its evaluations early next week.
