Osimhen to have €130m release clause, earn €10m per season in new Napoli contract

Victor Osimhen is likely to have a hefty release clause in his new contract at Napoli, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Italy’s biggest sports news outlet.

La Gazzetta dello Sport, like some other sources in Italy, have provided an update about the striker’s future at Napoli and about the meeting involving club CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis and Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda that took place yesterday.

The newspaper stated that a draft agreement was reached on Wednesday between Napoli CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis and Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda and it was a reward for all the hardwork done tirelessly by both parties.

The newspaper further reports that Osimhen is ready to sign a three-year deal and extend his deal at the club till the summer of 2026, with his current deal running out in the summer of 2025. He will earn €10 million per season and interestingly enough, he will have a €130 million release clause in his contract.

The release clause, the newspaper reported, is seen as an insurance policy, as it will allow Napoli to earn a huge sum and Osimhen will not be held prisoner to any attractive offers that land his way.

The 24-year-old is ready to sign the agreement with Napoli and both parties seem happy.

Osimhen was instrumental to Napoli winning their first Scudetto in 33 years last season, scoring 26 goals in 31 games, the most scored by any player in the competitions last season.
