Osimhen’s market value rises, now 35th in the World, second in Africa and still number one in Nigeria

Galatasaray’s star striker Victor Osimhen’s market value is beginning to rise again after dropping twice in the first half of 2025.

His valuation has risen by €5m, from €70m to €75m, following his record-breaking transfer from Napoli to Galatasaray.

The 26 year old is now the 35th most valuable footballers in the world, according to Transfermarkt’s latest market value update.

Osimhen remains the most valuable player in the Turkish Süper Lig, the most valuable player at Galatasaray, and now ranks as the joint second most valuable African player, behind only Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi of Paris Saint-Germain, who is valued at €80 million.

He also ranks as the 7th most valuable centre forward in the world, and 6th among all players born in 1998.

‘He moved for €75m despite having just one year left on his contract, which is an incredible amount of money and a transfer record in Türkiye,’ said Türkiye Area Manager Lara Karacan.

‘Past behaviour, however, highlights that Turkish clubs aren’t exactly willing to pay bargain prices and often pay big fees even if the player is on a short-term deal.

‘As such, we have to take the amount of time left on his contract with a grain of salt. His market value is also influenced by the loss of status that comes with leaving a top five league. As a result, his market value will top out at €75m.’
