Over 3,200 Athletes Set for Historic MTN CHAMPS Grand Final in Ibadan

The MTN CHAMPS Season 4 Grand Final is set to make history, with a record-breaking 3,220 athletes from 375 schools and teams competing across two venues in Ibadan from April 14 to 17.
A total of 8,243 event entries have been confirmed, underlining the rapid growth and influence of Nigeria’s leading secondary schools athletics competition.
Ibadan, already a familiar host from Seasons 1 and 2, will stage the Grand Final for the third time, further cementing its role as a hub for grassroots sports development.
The Lekan Salami Stadium and the University of Ibadan Sports Complex will jointly host the event.
All four age categories will open at Lekan Salami Stadium on Day 1, before Cadet (U-14) and Youth (U-17) athletes move to the University of Ibadan Sports Complex for Days 2 and 3.
Junior (U-20) and Senior athletes will remain at Lekan Salami Stadium throughout, with all categories reuniting there for the closing day.
Twenty Most Valuable Performers (MVPs) selected from earlier legs in Calabar and Jos will headline the Grand Final, going head-to-head with the best emerging talents nationwide.
Their performances are expected to provide thrilling highlights in what has already been a landmark season.
Bib collection, serving as final confirmation of entry, will take place on April 12 and 13 at Lekan Salami Stadium between 10am and 4pm.
