Paris 2024 Olympics: McLaughlin-Levrone Vs Femke Bol 400m Hurdles Showdown 3 confirmed!

It is confirmed. The much-awaited face-off between reigning World and Olympic champion and World record holder, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and European champion, Femke Bol has been confirmed to hold on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at the Stade de France in Saint-Dennis, Paris, France.

The last showdown, the second in the series was held two years ago in Oregon, USA in the final of the 400m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships.

The American, McLaughlin-Levrone ran an incredible 50.68 to set a World record on her way to winning the gold medal, ahead of the Dutchwoman who ran 52.27 to pick the silver medal.

A year earlier, the American set her first world record when she ran 51.46 to win her first Olympic title in the event. That was the first time the two first met with the American drawing the first blood while Bol came third, running 52.03 to win the bronze.

The third showdown in the series will be at another global final with McLaughlin-Levrone looking to make it 3-0 in head-to-head clashes and win her second straight Olympic title.
Both came tops in their semifinal heat, but McLaughlin-Levrone had served warning of readiness to win her second Olympic gold in the event after running 50.65 to break her World record at the USA Olympics trials in Oregon in June.

Bol has also shown she can run just as fast after she broke 51 seconds for the first time in her career last month at the Stade de La Charrière, La Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland.

The whole world is awaiting a titanic battle for the gold medal this time and not the one-sided ones witnessed in 2021 in Tokyo and 2022 in Oregon.
