Pires insists: Osimhen is tailor-made for Arsenal
Former Arsenal player, Robert Pires is insisting the Gunners need to sign a striker this January before the transfer window closes and the player has to be Victor Osimhen, the Napoli player who is on loan at Turkish Super Lig side, Galatasaray
After coming each in the Premier League t0 Manchester City in each of the last two seasons, Arsenal are in the hunt again for silverware as they are still fighting on three fronts this season
Mikel Arteta’s team are second in the Premier League, effectively qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League and can still overcome a 2-0 deficit to defeat Newcastle and qualify for the final of the Carabao Cup.
The general consensus out there is that Arsenal need to sign a top, top striker and Pires believes Osimhen is almost tailor-made for the side he scored 84 goals for in 284 appearances, 62 of the goals scored in 189 Premier League games.
‘He (Osimhen) has a good profile to play for Arsenal and the players such as Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard, Havertz and Bukayo Saka.
‘But I’m not the owner or manager – I’m just an Arsenal fan who will always support them. If we can bring in one player though it’d have to be Osimhen,’ insists Pires who won two Premier League titles for the Gunners and was voted Player of the month of February, 2003.
