Premier League: Ola Aina looking for third win in five games Vs Liverpool

Nigeria defender, Ola Aina has won twice in the four games he has featured in against Liverpool since he made his Premier League debut in October 2016 and the 28-year-old will be looking to make it three wins in five games when he and his club, Nottingham Forest host the Premier League leaders at the City Ground on Tuesday in a matchweek 21 fixture.
Aina played a pivotal role in Forest’s 1-0 win at Anfield back in September and the Nigerian will be eager to be part of that Forest’s team to achieve a league double over the rampaging Liverpool in 62 years.
It will also be Aina’s first double against a Premier League side in a Premier League season. Victory will also mean Liverpool joining Leicester City as the two clubs the Nigerian has recorded the most wins against.
Aina will also be looking to start his 21st Premier League game in a row. If he does, he will likely be one of just two Nigerians to have started every Premier League game this season if Alex Iwobi starts at West Ham United also on Tuesday evening.
Meanwhile, Taiwo Awoniyi will also be looking to play a part and possibly start for the third time in 16 appearances this season.
If he plays, the 27-year-old could be hoping to make the difference for the second time in five appearances against the club that first signed him on after his U20 exploits for Nigeria’s Flying Eagles.
Awoniyi scored the only goal when Forest defeated Liverpool at the City Ground in October 2022 in his first Premier League game against the Reds. He has however lost the remaining three games thereafter.
