Preston 0-3 Arsenal: Nwaneri scores wonder goal to set another record

Ethan Chidiebere Nwaneri scored a wonder goal from all of 30 yards to set the record as Arsenal’s youngest player at 17 years and 223 days to score in their first two starts for the club.

The Nigeria-born England U19 star had scored a brace in the Gunners’ 5-1 demolition of Bolton on September 26 at the Emirates stadium.

On Wednesday evening at the Deepdale, Nwaneri scored his third goal of the Carabao Cup when he put Arsenal 2-0 up on 33 minutes with a curling left-footed strike.

This would be the second time the Arsenal academy product has broken a record. He became the youngest ever Arsenal player, and the youngest player to appear in the topflight of English football aged just 15 when he was subbed on in the 89th minute of the Guuners’ 3-0 away win at Brentford on 18 September 2022.
