PSG set to dump Osimhen for Lookman as Nigerian’s left out of Atalanta game Vs Leece
Following rumours of a strong interest from PSG, Atalanta have not called up Ademola Lookman for their opening 2024/2025 Serie A trip to Lecce.
The player’s entourage, according to a report in Gazzetta dello Sport, Italy’s most authoritative sports daily, has ‘informed the Bergamo side of PSG’s interest and the Nerazzurri have opened up to a possible transfer.’
The Nigerian, hero of the Europa League final won against Bayer Leverkusen, has a contract until 2027.
Gazzetta dello Sport also reports that PSG made their move just before the European Super Cup final which Atalanta lost 2-0 to Real Madrid.
‘PSG made a survey with the player’s entourage, which alerted Atalanta, meeting an openness to a possible transfer. Sunday’s failure to call up Lookman is a further indication that the track is heating up a lot,’ wrote the newspaper.
The Ligue 1 side had been linked with Victor Osimhen, Lookman’s Nigerian compatriot in the Serie A since the end of last season and were even reported to have sealed personal terms with the 25 year old but Napoli’s insistence on the club paying the player’s 130m release club may have forced the Paris billionaires to look at other alternatives.
