Rangers sign former Niger Tornadoes goalkeeper, Abdullahi as team begins pre-season activities

Rangers International F.C of Enugu have signed former Niger Tornadoes and Lobi Stars safest pair of hands, Lucky Jimoh Abdullahi as they begin preparations for the next football season.

The goalkeeper, who put pen to paper on Tuesday at the ‘Flying Antelopes’ corporate office, inked a two-year deal to challenge for the ‘numero un’ position as the Coal City side challenge on all fronts in the coming season.

‘This is another great leap in my career and I hope to bring in my best at all times to ensure that Rangers successfully defend the league title and go as far as the final match in the continentals. I am delighted with this big opportunity,’ said a highly elated Lucky after signing the dotted lines.

Meanwhile, the reigning NPFL champions kick-started its 2024/2025 season on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, inside the main bowl of Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium under the guidance of coach Fidelis Ilechukwu and his lieutenants as he introduced coach Godwin Nosike as one of the new hands in the coaching team.

Most of the gladiators retained for the new season could not meet up with the day’s programme but are expected to be involved on Thursday.

Rangers have succeeded in getting the services of such names as Garando Tekena, Ekeson Okorie, Anayor Ogbonna, Chimobi Igwilo, Somtochukwu Nwobodo, Evans Ogbonda, Ernest Governor, and Hillary Ekawu while efforts are on to get a few others from the West African sub-region before the close of the window for registration.
