Remi Tinubu splashes $20,000, $10,000 and $5000 on each of Nigeria’s Paralympics gold, silver and bronze medalists
Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu says each gold medal winner at the 2024 Paralympic Games which ended last week in Paris, France will each go home with $20,000 (about N15.6m), silver medalists $10,000 (about N7.8m) and bronze medalists (about N3.9m).
The athletes were warmly received at the Presidential Villa by the First Lady of Nigeria following their impressive performance in Paris.
Senator Remi Tinubu lauded the athletes for their dedication, resilience, and extraordinary achievements, emphasizing that their success at the Paralympic Games epitomizes perseverance, dedication, and the highest standard of sportsmanship.

Folashade’s incredible lift of 167kg not only broke her own world record but also established her as a two-time Paralympic champion. You have raised the bar for para-athletes worldwide, and your victory stands as a beacon of hope for millions of Nigerians’.
Nigeria’s Paralympic team’s haul of seven medals included two gold, three silver, and two bronze medals are about the lowest Nigeria has ever won at the Games since 1992.
