Rhasidat Adeleke: ‘I am really looking forward to the 400m event in Paris, anything can happen there’

Multiple Irish record holder, Rhasidat Adeleke says she is looking forward to a great and fierce competition in the 400m at the Paris Olympics after running her second career fastest time over the full lap event (49.17) to win at the Monaco Diamond League on Friday night.

The Nigeria-born athlete led from the start to the finish for first Diamond League win in just two appearances and expressed satisfaction with her performance.

‘I feel pretty good because I controlled the race. I am happy about the way I started and finished the race. Each race brings me a lot of confidence. I am consistent which is always great,’ she said post race and believes the gold in Paris is not sure for any athlete.

‘Anything can happen in Paris as it is a championships. I just want to run fast but the women’s 400m this season has been spectacular. I am really looking forward to that race,’ she said.
