Romano says Lookman staying put at Atalanta

Fabrizio Romano has clarified the situation surrounding Ademola Lookman: despite speculation, the Nigerian forward is not in negotiations with clubs from Turkey or Saudi Arabia.

Atalanta has made its stance clear by including him in their Champions League squad, a strong signal of commitment.

‘We’ve received many questions about Lookman, but there are no ongoing talks with Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, or any other club. The markets in Turkey and Saudi Arabia may be open, but there are no active dossiers.’

Lookman’s registration for UEFA competition speaks volumes. Romano notes this as a clear indication that Atalanta intends to move forward with him, at least for now.

With the transfer window closed, the priority shifts to performance. September marks a new chapter where Lookman is expected to concentrate on his game and rebuild his rapport with the club.

Galatasaray showed late interest, but with European competition slots already locked, a move to the Süper Lig, without continental football, doesn’t align with Lookman’s profile.

In Saudi Arabia, many teams have already filled their foreign player quotas, further reducing the likelihood of a move.
