Sadiq Umar: Lookman Will Shine as One of World’s Best in LaLiga

Super Eagles striker Sadiq Umar has tipped compatriot Ademola Lookman to establish himself as one of the world’s best players following his move to Atletico Madrid.
Lookman, who joined from Atalanta, made an immediate impact on his debut, scoring and providing an assist in Atletico’s emphatic 5-0 victory over Real Betis in the Copa del Rey quarter-final.
The 28-year-old is now set to make his first La Liga appearance at the Wanda Metropolitano when Atletico host Betis in the league.
Umar, despite enduring a difficult season himself, welcomed Lookman to Spain and hailed the move as a perfect fit for his talent.
‘I’m glad to see him coming here to La Liga because probably this is the best league in the world and you know the best league needs the best players. And Ademola Lookman is one of the best players right now. It’s time for La Liga to know who he is and the world also will confirm who he is. I wish him all the best and I will see him soon,’ Umar told Sporty TV.
Reports suggest Atletico coach Diego Simeone could extend his stay beyond the expiration of his current contract next year if Lookman helps deliver silverware this season.
With his explosive debut and growing reputation, Lookman’s arrival has already sparked excitement in Madrid and across La Liga.
