Saka: ‘I am taking a lot of pleasure from creating and scoring but the biggest pleasure is winning’
Arsenal winger, Bukayo Saka says he is delighted the Gunners are scoring again and hopes they can keep the form going.
The 23-year-old scored once and provided two assists in Arsenal’s 5-2 defeat of West Ham at the London stadium and was voted the man of the match by the Premier League.
The Nigeria-born England international has now created 10 assists in the first 13 games of the 2024/25 Premier League season and becomes the first player in Europe’s top five leagues to hit double figure of assists.
“I am taking a lot of pleasure from creating and scoring but the biggest pleasure is winning. Let’s keep this form going. We need to continue like this. We have played three good games but we know in this league that is not enough,’ said Saka in an interview with Skysport.
On reaching 10 Premier League assists for the season already, Saka says he’s ‘constantly looking to improve, to create and score goals for this team and I’m doing that right now. I’m enjoying my football and playing with confidence, I want to continue like this.’
Arsenal have scored five or more goals in five different away games in all competitions in 2024, the joint-most in a single calendar year by an English top-flight side, along with Sunderland in 1892 and Manchester City in 1937.
