Saka undergoes surgery, out for ‘more than two months’

Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Bukayo Saka has had surgery on his hamstring and will be out for “more than two months”.

The Nigeria-born England international was injured during Arsenal’s 5-1 win at Crystal Palace a fortnight ago in what has been a potential blow to the Gunners’ Premier League title aspiration.

Arteta confirmed after Arsenal pipped Ipswich Town 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Friday night that the 23 year old will be out until at least March, 2025.

Saka has Arsenal’s best player so far this season and has scored five times and provided 10 assists in 16 Premier League games so far this season.

Overall, he has scored 67 goals and bagged 63 assists in 250 games for Arsenal since he made his senior debut in 2019.

As many as 52 of the goals and 45 of the assists have come in 186 Premier League appearances.
