Salah: We could have beaten Man United by five or six goals!

Mohamed Salah believes Liverpool could have beaten Manchester United by a bigger margin than the 3-0 victory that they had at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Salah scored for the seventh consecutive match at Old Trafford to take his goal tally there to 10 in nine matches. He also set up the first two goals for Luis Diaz and enjoyed his latest visit to the stadium.

He is now the second player to score 10+ goals at a single away ground for Premier League clubs since 1992-93, after Alan Shearer (10 at Elland Road).

The Liverpool forward has also been directly involved in 18 goals against Manchester United in the Premier League (12 goals, six assists); the most of any player in the competition’s history.

‘A great result. Everyone knows the derby is important for the fans and the city. We need to carry on and if you want to fight for the league you have to win each game.

‘I managed to be involved in three [goals] so I am happy about that. The manager likes us to press high and there was a couple of mistakes and we managed to use them – it was part of the plan,’,’ Salah told Sky Sports.
