Semi Ajayi Out for Two Months as Hull’s Injury List Grows

Hull City’s promotion push has been dealt another major setback with confirmation that Semi Ajayi will miss up to two months after sustaining a hamstring injury at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Nigerian defender limped off in added time of the Super Eagles’ third-place victory over Egypt on Sunday, and scans have since revealed damage that is expected to sideline him for around seven weeks.

Ajayi’s absence adds to Hull’s growing injury list, with Mo Belloumi and Darko Gyabi already ruled out long-term.

Despite the setbacks, Sergej Jakirovic’s side showed resilience at the weekend, cruising to a 3-0 win away at Preston North End thanks to goals from Liam Millar, Akin Famewo, and Oli McBurnie.
